  • 3 large potatoes
  • 1 grated onion
  • 250-300 gr. minced meat
  • 1 egg
  • Some finely chopped parsley
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Red chili pepper
  • Cumin
  • 3-4 tablespoons of breadcrumbs

How to make Cyprus meatball?

  1. To make the Cyprus meatball recipe, Peel potatoes and grate them with the thin side of the grater.
  2. Squeeze their juice and take them into a mixing bowl.
  3. Add grated onion, minced meat, egg, finely chopped parsley, breadcrumbs, salt and spices.
  4. Knead the mixture for 5 minutes and shape.
  5. Pour a generous amount of oil into a deep pan.
  6. Throw the rolled meatballs into it.
  7. Transfer the fried meatballs to a plate lined with paper towels so that they will absorb the excess oil of the meatballs.
  8. Serve with fried pepper and tomato slices.

Cooking tips: Using fresh potatoes and keeping them in hot water for two minutes will make your potatoes easier to grate and blend easily with minced meat. Squeezing the juice of the grated potatoes will prevent the formation of a bitter taste in the meatball mixture.
