INGREDIENTS

For the dough:

  • 1 water glass of warm water
  • 1 water glass of warm milk
  • 2 dessert spoons of dry yeast (10 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 dessert spoon of salt
  • Enough flour

For the filling:

  • 2 chicken breasts (about 500 g)
  • 3 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 red capsicum pepper
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 green pepper
  • Salt
  • Black pepper, red chili powder, thyme
  • 3 water glasses of grated cheddar
  1. For the dough, take all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead. Obtain a dough that does not stick to the hand. Cover and let it rise.
  2. For the filling, divide the chicken breasts into small pieces. Put oil in a pan and heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook them by stirring constantly. When the chickens are soft, add the chopped onions to it and mix. Then, add diced tomatoes and chopped peppers and cook for a little. Finally, add salt and spices and turn off the stove.
    Note: Do not cook the vegetables too much as they will cook in the oven as well.
  3. Divide the fermented dough into 4 equal pieces and roll out each one with the help of a rolling pin.
  4. Spread the grated cheddar on dough pieces you have rolled out evenly all over. Put the chicken filling on them, close the sides and give them a pita shape.
  5. Spread water to the edges with a brush and bake pitas in a preheated 200-degree oven until golden brown.
