Rice pudding (sutlac) is one of the traditional flavors of Turkish cuisine. Many people enjoy it since it is nutritional while also being low in calories. We recommend that you try this dessert, which is also very practical to make.

  • 1 liter of milk
  • 1 water glass of sugar
  • Half a water glass of rice
  • 2 tablespoons of wheat starch
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 water glasses of water
  • Half a water glass of milk

How to make baked rice pudding?

  1. To make the baked rice pudding recipe, firstly wash the rice (do not wash too much) and boil it in 2 water glasses of water. Make sure the rice is well cooked, it is better to be slightly mushy.
  2. The rice will absorb the water and will be slightly watery.
  3. Add milk and vanilla sugar to the boiled rice and boil the mixture.
  4. Then, add sugar, and starch diluted with half a water glass of milk and mix.
  5. Boil the pudding for another 10-15 minutes by stirring constantly. It will thicken as it boils. Then, turn off the stove.
  6. Pour the rice pudding into heat-resistant bowls.
  7. Put the bowls on the baking tray and add cold water to the baking tray halfway through the bowls.
  8. Bake in a 180-degree preheated oven until golden brown.
  9. To get a better consistency, keep your baked rice puddings in the refrigerator for a day.
  10. Decorate them with crushed hazelnuts and serve.
